Seniors should apply for rebate

Seniors are advised to renew their Senior Citizen’s Rate Rebate. Ward councillor Elton Jansen will be at the Strandfontein Community Hall on Friday 8 July from 09:30 to assist residents with their rebate renewals and Indigent Grant Applications.

For senior rebate the following supporting documents are required:

. Proof of income for the owner and spouse/partner and 3-months non-internet bank statements for all banking accounts from all financial institutions.

. Copies of ID

. Copies of lease agreement

. Proof of pension

. Proof of disability

. Salary slips

. Proof of investments/dividends

. Proof of usufruct/habitation/executor/administrator or curator.

. Proof of Trust document and income of all beneficiaries.

. If property is registered in multiple owners; copy of ID of applicant (person residing) and proof of income for all owners is required

. If property is registered in a Close Corporation a copy of ID of applicant (person

residing) and proof of income for all other members are required

. Copy of Death Certificate or will

For Indigent Applications the following supporting documents are required:

If you are employed –

. Proof of identity

. Latest payslip, or a letter from an employer confirming your income or a sworn affidavit stating how much you earn

. Proof that you receive a grant

. A bank statement for the last three months or a sworn affidavit confirming that you do not have a bank account

. A bond statement for the last three months or a sworn affidavit declaring that you do not have a bond account

If you are unemployed –

. Proof of identity

. A sworn affidavit confirming that you are unemployed

. A sworn affidavit that you have no other source of income

. A bank statement for the last three months

. A bond statement for the last three months
