The Salwary’s Community Project hosted 50 senior citizens at a luncheon last Thursday at the Lentegeur Library to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Radio presenter Pat Lee was the MC and also handed out several blankets to the seniors.Those in attendance included the Salwary’s senior club and 10 others from Tafelsig. The club meets at the Lentegeur Civic Centre every Thursday and stay active together.

Rasheda Salwary thanked Jolly Meat market, the Lockhart Family, The Lentegeur library, Somaya Khan and her husband Ikbal Salwary for their support.

Following the lunch and games the seniors also received clothing to take home.

Radio presenter Pat Lee kept the seniors entertained during the event.

Auntie Annie Stemmert sang a song at the event.

The seniors were fed a warm plate and given clothing after the event.
