Meet Spartacus, an extremely happy pitbull who was adopted from the animal organisation Pit Pals by Neels Kleynhans, a professional photographer.

Pit Pals rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes pitbulls and other power breeds and is pro-life.

When Neels decided to take on Pit Pals as a charity project, he did not expect to take home one of the pitbulls at the shelter.

But he did, and decided there and then to organise a photo shoot in aid of the organisation and to pledge 10% of his income to Pit Pals for a year.

“At first I only agreed to take Spartacus for the weekend. But when the time came to take him back to the shelter, I simply couldn’t. He is such a joyful dog and he’s already part of the family. I now truly believe in the motto ‘Don’t shop; adopt’,” says Neels.

Spartacus was at the shelter for 120 days before Neels decided to adopt him.

The photo shoot is taking place at Melkbosstrand on Sunday 13 November and booking is essential. A 15-minute photo shoot on the beach with your pet will cost R150 and all the proceeds will go to Pit Pals.V To book a shoot, phone Neels on 071 682 1653. For more information on Pit Pals, go to
