If you are between 12 and 18 years old and an ace on the sports field, then you have to enter the People’s Post/Let’s Play Sport Star of the Month competition.

Entries are now open.

Eduard Rosentrauch, spokesperson of SuperSport Western Cape, says the initiative is aimed at giving recognition to learners who excel in sport.

“Play, physical education and sport are foundations of the holistic development of children and an initiative of this nature contributes to a healthier community and encourages sports activity,” says Rosentrauch.

All sporting codes will be considered.

Coaches, teachers or parents (anyone, in fact) can nominate their most talented sport star, detailing why he or she deserves to be recognised. Each monthly winner will receive a gift pack and will be entered in the People’s Post/Let’s Play Sports Star of the Year competition to be announced at the end of the year.

Start encouraging your learners by nominating them by email to ben.burger@media24.com. Clearly write the subject as Sports Star. You need to mention the achievements of the nominee in detail. The email should be shorter than 300 words. Include pictures. The decision of the judges is final.
