AAA shuttles (AAA S&T) are calling on the community to assist them with any info leading to Monday morning’s (10 July) hijacking in Philippi.

According to the local transport services, a 29-year-old employee and client were hijacked, leaving them stranded in the early hours of the morning.

“One of our male drivers was hijacked at gunpoint and our branded company vehicle was taken in Mlonji Street, at approximately 04:15. Thankfully both the driver and passenger are safe, and were not hurt at all,” says company manager Rushda Mallik Louw.

“According to the police, they assume that we will find the vehicle by Wednesday as the method is that they will use the car for something else. Please be on the lookout and report it to us, should the vehicle be spotted.  We are just afraid they will do something using our company vehicle.”

In the meantime, a case has been opened at Nyanga Police Station.

If you have any info with regard to the stolen Toyota Corolla with registration number CA 544 063, contact AAA Shuttles on 021 393 1596 or 082 372 3244.
