Steenberg police invite members of the public who are energetic, intelligent, physically and mentally fit, and who are dedicated with the desire to serve their country, to assist the police in the fight against crime.The station is on the hunt for reservists. A reservist performs voluntary duties without any expectation of receiving compensation for such duties.Reservists are expected to perform a minimum of 16 hours of voluntary duty per month.The basic requirements are: .You must be a South African citizen. .You must be at least 20 years old and below the age of 50. .You must have no criminal record. .You must fit the psychometric profile and have successfully completed any other test that may be determined by the national commissioner of the police. .You must be in possession of at least a senior certificate (Grade 12) or have successfully completed a SAQA accreditation NQF level 4 qualification. .You may not have tattoo marks that are visible when wearing the uniform and which are contradictory to the objectives of the service. .Appointment as a reservist does not imply the right or expectation to absorbed or appointed as an employee of the police. .There will be no preferential treatment for consideration for appointment as an employee of the police. .The police may also publish the names of applicants in the newspapers for public comment.
