Dreams do come true.This is the message from a community worker who is on a mission to further motivate women in the area who may have lost hope. Joanie Fredericks, founder of the Learner’s Licence Empowerment classes, is celebrating the year that was, and the achievements of all the women who have passed their learner’s licence test, with a high tea. The event will be held at the Olifantshoek Community Centre on Thursday 22 November at 12:00.“We want to honour the ladies who overcame their biggest fears and anxieties to start living their dreams of learning to drive,” says Fredericks.Tickets cost R50 with prizes up for grabs.Attendees can take along their own refreshments. There will be a raffle for a whole lamb at R50 per ticket, and gifts and prizes for the best table. There will also be motivational speakers and live entertainment, including dancing and singing.“I want to send out a message that it is possible to reach your dreams. There were many who gave up on my idea from when I started this but look now.
