Siblings and community joined hands in celebrating the spirit of Eid by giving back to the needy.

With the month of Ramadaan having passed, during this sacred month Muslims around the world observe fasting, increased spiritual awareness and solidarity with the underprivileged and needy. The Braaf family and friends joined hands to bring relief to those who are deprived of a basic need like food.

In a short space of time they gathered to find a way to bring joy and relief to those who for some reason or another go without food.

Together with the help of neighbours, friends, and local business who rallied support, they managed to cook 10 large pots of food to feed the poor on Eid.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the operation was a huge success and they managed to feed thousands of people and bring relief to the underprivileged.

The Braaf family and friends wish to thank everyone who contributed in cash and kindness for making this possible. This was the first year that the family has done this initiative. The food was distributed around the Cape. Although Ramadaan has gone, the need still prevails and the Braaf family would like to continue to grow the initiative.

If you would like to get involved, or contribute, call or message Siraj Braaf on 082 725 9392.
