Cape Town Roses have had their lead atop the Sasol Women’s league Western Cape cut to a mere point after playing to a 0-0 stalemate with RV United in Nyanga on Sunday 28 August.
Spurs Ladies were log leaders briefly following their narrow win over Dangerous Heroes in Phillipi on Friday 26 August.

Their superior goal difference of 81 goals (93 scored and 12 conceded) meant that they occupied top spot until Roses’ earned point on Sunday. Roses head the standings on 56 points after 22 matches of the 30-match season.

UWC’s ladies team suffered a blow to their title hopes following a 2-1 away loss Santos Ladies at the Santos Academy on Saturday 27 August. They remain in third place on 49 points, but have a game in hand after only playing 21 fixtures to date. UWC Ladies, who boast the best goal difference in the league (105 - 126 scored, 21 conceded), are joined on 49 points by RV United.

Meanwhile, the result ensured that Santos Ladies closed the gap to their beaten opponents, but remained in fifth place.
