Patients in the out patient department and staff of Lentegeur Hospital were treated to soup and bread rolls as part of the facility’s ‘Psych Kicks’ C²AIR² Club team’s Winter Warmer initiative during June.
Elana Alcock, chief physiotherapist and ‘Psych Kicks’ C²AIR² Club champion, says the initiative formed part of the group’s internal staff recognition activities. “Our staff forms the backbone of our facility and on a daily basis contributes so immensely of themselves to improve the health and lives of our patients. This initiative aimed to thank them for their continued dedication and loyalty and commend them for your continuous commitment,” says Alcock.
She acknowledges that more than 450 cups of soup were successfully delivered. “We would like to thank Lentegeur Hospital Facility Board who funded the event. We were also fortunate enough to be able to partner with the Lentegeur Learners from Special Education Needs (LSEN) School, who produced two delicious pots of soup,” says Alcock.
The C²AIR² Club Challenge is an exciting 12 month competition between Western Cape Health facilities. Employees and managers are required to score points for their facility living the C²AIR² values, namely caring, competence, accountability, integrity, responsiveness and respect.
The programme supports employees to identify areas where these values can be enhanced, with the goal of improving patient care. The C²AIR² Club Youth Month initiative is a great example of Lentegeur Hospital’s effort to exhibit their C²AIR² values.
