Police have arrested three men found in possession of illegal firearms.

On Wednesday 1 June at 16:00 members of the Crime Prevention Unit were busy with crime prevention duties in Eastridge when they received information about a firearm kept at a house in Falstaff Street.

“The house is also a known drug outlet,” says police spokesperson Captain Ian Williams.

When police searched the house they found a .38 calibre special Rossi revolver with three rounds of ammunition.

Two suspects, aged 29 and 30, were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

In an unrelated matter, on Tuesday 31 May at 21:15 police were busy with crime prevention duties in Korfbal Street, Beacon Valley, when officers spotted a man on a bicycle allegedly throwing a firearm into the yard when he spotted the police.

When police took the suspect back to the yard they found a black 9mm firearm with a magazine and seven rounds of ammunition. The 27-year-old man was arrested.
