The Youth Unemployment Prevention Project (YUPP) will host their annual post school study, funding and training opportunities seminar at Spine Road High School from 13:30 to 15:30 on Tuesday 27 March.This year they will also host the first job readiness summit to coincide with the launch of the youth employment services, which President Cyril Ramaphosa announced during his state of the nation address, which will provide one million jobs for youth over the next three years. Details of the service and how the youth can access the service will be provided at the seminar.Youth seeking employment are therefore encouraged to attend so they can hear from career advisors, placement officers and potential employers how to prepare themselves for the work opportunities that the service will provide, as well as the jobs currently available which youth wish to apply for.Youth seeking employment will also be able to register for free job seeking, career guidance and work readiness workshops and programmes. There will also be more than 300 further study opportunities from more than 20 courses which school leavers and unemployed youth can still apply for this year. Bursaries are available for all these courses, and the bursary application process will be explained and learnerships available from the SETA’s, and where and how to apply for them and registering your details on the learnership database will be available.The event is free and parents and guardians are also encouraged to attend.Seats are limited and it is advised that you arrive early or RSVP to reserve your seat.
