Survival course for local businesses

Mitchell’s Plain business owners can be among the first to participate in a free two-day business course between January and February.

The course is offered to registered business owners from Mitchell’s Plain, Bellville and Khayelitsha who need practical guidance on how to survive or how to get their businesses to the next level.

The first course is set to begin on Monday at the Seda offices in Bellville, while the first workshop in the Mitchell’s Plain area is set to start at the Promenade Mall on Monday 8 February.

A second workshop will take place on Wednesday 10 February.

The initiative, run by the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and sponsored by the department of economic development and tourism and the Western Cape government, is a part of the emerging business support programme.

The university would like to encourage registered small business owners to use the opportunity to attend this free business course and start the new year on the right foot.

The courses are intensive and teach strategy as well as provides immediate and practical guidance for struggling businesses.

To participate, businesses need to be registered and operational within the Western Cape; have a valid tax clearance certificate or be in the process of registering for tax.
