A 32-year-old man suspected of dealing in drugs was arrested by members of the Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) at Westridge last Thursday.

The arrest followed a tip-off that a house at Haasendal Street was dealing in drugs.

Police spokesperson Captain Ian Williams says members of the unit went into the house around 15:30 on Thursday and conducted the search.

They found 52 straws containing heroin. Williams says a 32-year-old suspect was arrested.

The suspect is facing charges related to possession of heroine.

The suspect appeared in court yesterday, (6 May). He is believed to be part of gang group in the area.

The police are urging and appealing to residents to report any criminal activities that are happening in their communities.

V They can do that by calling the Crime Stop number on 0860 010 111. They can also send an SMS to 32211.
