Local councillor, Roberto Quintas reminds residents of Hout Bay to bring the necessary documents when visiting a City of Cape Town’s mobile office in Hout Bay Library today, Tuesday 5 March from 09:30 to 13:30.

“Bring your Identity Document, copies of recent rates for electricity or water bills as the officials will be better able to identify you and your account or business partner numbers and therefore improve their ability to resolve whatever issues and answer queries residents may have,” says Quintas.

His plea followed a statement by Sharon Cottle, the City’s mayco member for corporate services issued on Monday 25 February.

According to a statement the initiative focussed on communities that are far from municipal facilities such as cash offices, housing offices, subcouncil offices or FreeCall Lines.

Hout Bay is one of the communities that were identified by the City to be part of the initiative over the past 11 months ran through the Customer Relations Office.

Quintas says the mobile office allows residents the opportunity to bring their various queries to the Customer Relations Office on the day and that there is little to no waiting time in queues and attention to customers is far more detailed and hands on, thus saving travel time and expense to visit the municipal offices in Plumstead, Wynberg or the Civic Centre in the CBD.

Quintas says this is the City’s efforts to be a well-run, and resident focused municipality doing its best to make services more customer friendly.

In the statement, she had described the mobile office as an additional channel for the residents to engage with the City.

The mobile office will be in Lotus River Community Centre at Buck Road on Friday 8 March from 09:30 to 12:00.
