2016-01-26 06:00

In the early hours of Wednesday morning Woodstock police responded to a break-in in Queens Park Avenue, Salt River. Upon arrival police saw a white Polo leave at high speed and a chase ensued.

During the chase the suspects’ car crashed into a bridge in Goodwood.

The suspects received medical attention on the scene after sustaining minor head and upper body injuries during the accident. Two of the suspects are in custody and one was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for minor head injuries and is in a stable condition.

Officers searched the car and found a crowbar, bolt cutter, petty cash box and laptop bag.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects broke into one of the businesses in Queens Park Avenue by forcing the front door open. All three suspects appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Friday to face charges of business burglary, possession of stolen property and various traffic violations.
