Three Tafelsig men arrested

Khayelitsha police officers were on patrol in 7th Avenue at 04:30 when they arrested a 28-year-old man on Tuesday last week.

The officers were investigating a case dealing with theft of firearms when they arrived at a house where they believed the suspect was, they spotted the suspect trying to get out of a window and threw an object out of the window. Police found it was a gun with a magazine and seven 9mm rounds.

In an unrelated matter on Thursday last week at 23:00, officers from the Mitchell’s Plain Stabilization Unit were busy with stop and searches on the corners of Barcelona and Liverpool streets, Tafelsig when they noticed a suspicious man who ran when he saw the officers. He was searched and found two bullets, three bankies of dagga and a half mandrax tablet in his possession. The 29-year-old man was arrested.

Police also arrested a 32-year-old man on Saturday 9 December at 15:30. Officers were on patrols in Garcia Street when they noticed a man hiding something in a hole. When police took the suspect to the place and started digging, they found a stop of dagga, a crushed mandrax tablet and seven rounds of live 9mm rounds.
