2018-01-16 06:01

Trail running enthusiasts are invited to join in on the AfricanX Training Run #2 at Cecilia Forest in Constantia at 07:00 on Saturday.

Open to the public, the AfricanX training runs are hosted under the guidance of former AfricanX winners Dawid Visser and Rohan Kennedy.

The goal is to prepare runners for the 10th annual AfricanX Trail Run that will take place at Boschendal Wine Estate in April.

According to Visser, the trail running routes at Cecilia Forest are sure to test the fitness levels of runners.

He adds that a good fitness level is needed for this run and that they can look forward to steep climbs, varying terrain and spectacular views. The race will be run over 10km or 15km and participants are expected to wear trail shoes and bring along enough fluids, as well as energy gels and/or bars.
