Tuck shop robbed of cash at gun point

2017-06-20 06:01

Steenberg police officers are asking the public to help them investigate a business robbery at a tuck shop on Monday last week.

Steenberg police spokesperson Warrant Officer John Bartlett says at about 06:30 the tuck shop owner alleges he was alone in his shop when a robber entered and asked to use the toilet.

“Once the robber was inside he pulled out a black firearm and demanded money. The robber took R4400 that was under the counter and another undisclosed amount of cash. He fled in a white Mazda bakkie with an accomplice who was waiting in the bakkie.

“No shots were fired. Steenberg police have opened a case of business robbery.”

V Anyone with information on this robbery should contact Steenberg police on 021 702 9000.
