Two people walking in Exeter Road, Plumstead on Sunday 12 November were allegedly robbed at gunpoint.

Diep River police spokesperson Constable Zak Marais says proactive thinking by police officers, neighbourhood watches and security service providers later led to the arrest of two people, one of them a young teenager.

The robbers had fled in a silver sedan car.

“No shots were fired and no-one was injured.

“Two boys, aged 13 and 18, were arrested. A replica firearm was found in their possession, as well as the victims’ cellphones. They were detained at Diep River for further investigation.

“Cases of possession of stolen property and armed robbery are being investigated,” he says.

V Anyone with information on this mugging can call detective Constable Mrwebi on 021 710 7349.
