Two teenagers were wounded in a shooting in Manenberg last Friday night.

According to Manenberg police spokesperson Captain Ian Bennett, the two boys, aged 16 and 19 years, were standing with a group of people at a tuck shop in Gonubie Street.

Bennett says gun shots rang out and the group scattered, leaving the two teenagers wounded.

“The 16-year-old was injured in his hand while the 19-year-old was injured in both legs.

“They were taken to Heideveld Day Hospital for medical treatment.

“The suspects were not seen and they fled the scene.

“The teens wanted to consult with their parents before continuing with the case,” says Bennett.

A case of attempted murder has been opened for investigation to determine the reason for the shooting.
