Take time to relax this summer with some fantastic local music talent at the Jackson Hall, GrandWest in February and March.

In February the line-up has the Branton ‘B Charles’ Charles Experience performing every Friday evening from 21:00 to 01:00. On Saturdays Major 7 performs with a DJ that takes the music to 01:00. A DJ will be playing every Wednesday from 18:00 to 01:00.

In March this schedule changes to Chasing Time performing on Friday evenings from 21:00 to 01:00. Every Saturday the B Charles Experience will be on stage with a DJ, together taking you from 18:00 to 01:00. There will also be a DJ playing every Wednesday evening from 18:00 to 01:00 – the perfect place for a mid-week party.

The B Charles Experience features Charles who has been singing professionally since 2007, performing at weddings, carnivals, fashion shows and other events. He won The Voice Search and Steenberg’s Got Talent last year. For six years he performed a Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 tribute show in Spain.

Major 7 is an exciting local jazz ensemble, the members of which are all studying music at UCT. They have performed at many festivals like the Cape Town Jazz Festival, Jazz on the Rocks and Jazz on the Lawn. Their performance includes some well-known jazz standards and selections of South Africa’s gospel and jazz music. All the young members are ‘Born-Free’ and their music presentation bears testament to their families and personal experience living in South Africa.

Chasing Time is a South African cover band that plays all the latest and greatest hit songs. The four members are influenced by R&B, soul, soft rock and house sounds. They have also performed at some of Cape Town’s top live music venues and they regularly play at corporate gigs.
