You can help take a local educare to the next level, and enjoy yourself while doing so.

Happy Valley Daycare in Strandfontein will next month host a gala fundraiser in aid of the daycare.

The event will also celebrate the educare’s fourth anniversary.

Funds raised will be in aid of expanding the current premises, says co-founder Lionel Braaf.

“We are not going to go bigger by getting more children – we just want to make the environment friendlier and more suitable to work in,” says Braaf.

They plan to add two classrooms to the back area.

Plans for this are already with the local council.

The fundraiser will be held at Barons Estate in Ottery on Friday 3 June.

The evening promises to be a night to remember with local speakers, live entertainment and a four-course meal.

The dress code for the event is strictly formal (black tie and evening dress) and every person will have the opportunity to walk the red carpet, Braaf says.

Tickets cost R250 per person and the event starts with a drinks reception at 19:00.

A few seats are still available, however no tickets will be sold at the door.

Braaf says they hope to have construction completed by the end of this year to enable the daycare to host an open day.

The daycare offers swimming lessons, computer lessons and soon hope to add dance lessons to the list of activities on offer.

Braaf says there will also be prizes – many of which have been donated by parents – up for grabs.

V For more information or tickets call Lionel Braaf on 082 373 4722 or Chantel Braaf on 073 152 9591. Alternativley call 021 393 9591. The last day for ticket sales will be Friday 27 May.
