Councillor Mark Kleinschmidt says the upgrading of recreational parks in ward 60 is a priority in respect of his ward allocations budget spend for the years 2017 and 2018.

Community playparks in Lawson Road in Rondebosch East, Lotus Road in Lansdowne, and the park at Star College School in Sybrand Park were among several sites identified to receive upgrades.

The improvements include new gym equipment and rubberised matting at a total cost of R200 000. The balance of the ward allocation is set to be spent on traffic calming measures, empowerment skills programmes, early childhood development equipment and library resources, adds Kleinschmidt.
