The school-based support team of Searidge Park Primary embarked on an initiative to provide school shoes to learners who do not have and whose parents cannot afford to buy shoes.

The campaign has proved to be a heartwarming success.

Several companies and service providers were approached to assist with this initiative.

Cedric Charles a service provider and Jamey Du Plessis from Atmosphere Communications and other teachers at the school generously donated to this worthy cause.

More than 70 learners were blessed with a pair of shoes, socks and party packets.

Parents and learners were also treated to some refreshments after the ceremony.

This project, together with the school’s toiletry drive, was started some years ago but this is the first time it was done in the form of a handing over ceremony.

As these are ongoing initiatives, local businesses, service providers, parents and other communities are urged to make any form of contribution that will impact meaningfully and positively to the lives of many learners at the school who do not have access to toiletries, sanitary pads and clothes.

V Companies or residents who want to contribute can call the school secretary on 081 313 4993.
