The staff of Sun Valley Group of Schools organised a blanket drive as their community service project to give a little warmth this chilly winter.

Sun Valley staff were able to donate to three organisations in need.

They started at Elisabeth Yolisa Home for Children which cares for disadvantaged and orphaned toddlers and pre-schoolers in Masiphumelele.

The Sun Valley staff sang songs, blew bubbles, and then handed over the large bags of new blankets.

Their next stop was Ocean View, where they visited St Paul’s House of Hope which fosters 18 children.

Foster mom Sally was very appreciative of the blankets and other donations given.

Over 70 blankets were delivered to The Open Door Child Safety Centre which provides support, counselling, foster care placing and meals to children and families in need.
