Warning to the public

2018-11-13 06:01

Police are urging residents of the Kensington and Factreton area to be on the lookout for a white VW Polo allegedly carrying people suspected of attempting to abduct young girls. Police say one of the occupants of the vehicle is a tall, thin man with a dark complexion, and the other is a woman with a similar complexion. According to police, a learner of a local school and a member of the public who had been waiting for public transport reported an incident involving these suspects on Thursday 1 November.

In another reported incident on Wednesday 7 November, police say three men in a white open bakkie with tinted windows allegedly tried to lure a girl learner into the back of the
bakkie. “We are asking the public to report all incidents. No matter how insignificant they feel it is, these incidents need to be reported. The incidents are under investigation,” says police spokesperson, Sergeant Angeline Grill.
