The Strandfontein Neighbourhood Watch wants you!

The Strandfontein Neighbourhood Watch Recruitment Drive will kick off on Saturday 16 July and will run for three weeks.

The first event will be held at OK Dennegeur, the second drive will be held at the BP garage in Wavecrest on Saturday 23 July, and the final recruitment day will be at OK Bayview on Saturday 30 July.

This initiative is to grow the neighbourhood watch membership and to become self-sufficient by getting the help of the local businesses in the area.

“We have a great need for equipment such as radios, bicycles, reflector jackets, torches and motor vehicles,” says the watch’s public relations officer, Levan Jacobs.

“Getting businesses involved will help with this aspect and will show the partnership between the neighbourhood watch and businesses standing together to put an end to crime and make Strandfontein a safer environment.”

NHW chairperson Evan Pienaar adds: “Strandfontein Neighbourhood Watch together with the Community Policing Forum, Strandfontein Police and Scorpion Security Technologies will all be part of this recruitment drive to show the unity of all safety structures for the greater good of the community.”
