‘We’re drowing in rubbish’

2017-09-26 06:01

Women everywhere in the world, for thousands of years, had and have to deal with the fact of growing up. It brings along the very much disliked monthly menstruation to deal with. It is a subject people do not talk about, it is the same with sex. Education on these issues is very much overdue. Where are these towels disposed after use?

Hopefully not in flush toilets, blocking the whole system. And just thinking of rubbish dumps, it’s quite another story. Like the nappies for babies, millions of them are landing somewhere. Long ago, when I started menstruating, I had to use washable towels, and when my children where born, I had washable nappies. Nothing against modern times, but lets face it: we are drowning in rubbish with closed eyes, hoping for the best.
