The Mitchell’s Plain Network Opposing Abuse has held fast to the fight in seeing an end to abuse.

The organisation hosted its annual White Prayer Day on Tuesday last week, this year celebrating with the residents of the Beaconvale Community Frail Care Centre, where they are based.

The event is held annually to commemorate those who have suffered and died at the hands of abuse, as well as the many children who have gone missing over the years, (“Memorial for pain, grief”, People’s Post, 1 December 2015).

Marildea Sonday of the network said at the time that the annual event is held to show solidarity with families who have been victims of abuse.

“We remember the parents and families who endure pain and grief. We want people to know that we are in solidarity with them,” she said.
