LETTER: Who cares about pedestrians?

2015-12-01 06:00

Reading the article on pedestrian safety makes me ask the following question: How concerned are traffic officials with pedestrian safety? Are they really looking out for poor communities? Or are just the nicer areas supplied with constant monitoring and improvement?

I would like the people of Retreat and Steenberg to think before they make their marks in the next election. Think what the councillor in your area did. Were they concerned about your safety or your children’s? Look and see if they are concerned about what matters to you.

Articles are written and traffic officials notified and still no attention is given to the crossing on the corner of Military Road and Diamond Drive.

Our councillors do not care about us and I guess most people do not even know who they are. Don’t vote for parties and candidates who only want positions but do not deliver.
