Fans of improvised comedy can look forward to a full week of entertainment when ImproGuise host their Improv Fest this month.

Now in its fourth year, the festival takes place at the Waterfront Theatre School’s Galloway Theatre from Monday 14 to Saturday 19 March.

This year ImproGuise will be presenting audience favourites, as well as extreme and outrageous new formats and with a different event each night, audiences may well want to experience more than one of these totally made up, hilarious and unexpected hour long performances.

The festival starts with the popular Theatresports on Monday 14 March where the audience will play judge and throw suggestions at two competing teams.

Tuesday 15 March sees the improvisers’ skills stretched to their limits as they concoct a completely made up full-length documentary in front of the audience.

Carrying an age restriction of 18, improvisation will be stripped down to its bare minimum in Naked Improv on Wednesday 16 March. Then on Thursday, with a few suggestions from the audience, the ImproGuise team will create a brand new, never before seen South African soap opera on stage.

Six improvising directors will be competing against each other to be the last one standing in Superscene on Friday before the festival ends with two shows on Saturday.

Little ones will be able to create their own adventure with improvised interactive storytelling in Pop-up Tales from 11:00, while the whole family will get to witness the magic of a fully improvised musical; made up and sung on the spot in the evening.V Visit www.waterfronttheatreschool.co.za/booknow or call Sharon on 082 772 8867 for bookings or more information.
