A woman was killed in a hijacking in Westridge last night (20 July).
Just before 22:00 the 46-year-old woman arrived home where she was hijacked and shot in front of her home.
Police responded to the complaint and went to the scene.
Police spokesperson Captain Ian Williams says: “Mitchell's Plain police received a complaint of a car hijacking of a white Toyota Etios from Tenessee Street, Westridge. On their arrival they found a woman who was hijacked and fatally wounded with a gunshot to her chest and one to her right leg and was declared dead.”
Police are investigating a murder case and a case of hijacking.
At this point no arrests have been made.
The car, with registration number is CA 572-384, has not been found yet.
