Woman shot in Schaapkraal

Philippi police are asking for help to find five men responsible for a pensioner getting shot.

The 72-year-old woman was shot at her home in 10th Avenue, Schaapkraal on Saturday 4 February at 09:00.

She went outside to her yard with a worker when she was approached by five men with a firearm who asked where her son was. They took her to the house where she knocked on the window of her son’s room. When her son looked through the window they fired several shots at him. He returned fire.

The mother was shot in the leg.

No arrests have been made yet.
