The parish of St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Lentegeur, hosted a second conference for women from Friday 5 October.

The three-day conference focused on Joshua 1 verse 9: “Be strong and courageous”. Friday night saw the introduction of new parish priest, Reverend Father Jeremiah Gama, delivering his talk on the call to act courageously.

Four more speakers joined in on the discussions on Saturday. These were Deacon Joseph Arulando from the parish of St Clare in Elsies River, Nomfundo Mdingi whose unique presentation captivated the women, Dr Eugene Davids, a specialist in child and family studies, and Teresa Roberts from the parish of Queen of Peace in Grassy Park. This year’s conference grew from last year and plans are underway to look at different women’s issues.
