Young man killed in broad daylight

A 29-year-old man died after he was shot behind Stone Court, Lavender Hill last on Sunday 9 April.

Steenberg police officers who responded to the shooting found Fernando Fransman lying on his side with gunshot wounds to his chest and left arm.

Steenberg police spokesperson Warrant Officer John Bartlett says he was taken to Groote Schuur Hospital but died at the ­hospital.

“Ten 9mm cartridges were found at the crime scene.

“Steenberg police have opened a case of murder and the motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and the suspects are unknown.

“The incident took place in broad daylight,” says Bartlett.
