The 2019 Bayview u.16 Youth Cup is back and even bigger than before. With interest in the cup increasing annually, the competition will be held over three days, with 48 teams from all over the Western Cape participating. Some of the travelling teams include Josmos from Atlantis and for the first time this year – Cape Umoya, Stellenbosch FC and Ubuntu.

Last year, Mitchell’s Plain-based Milano won the tournament and will once again be participating to defend their title.

A whopping R10 000 is up for grabs for the winners.

Hosted by Bayview FC at their home ground at Strandfontein Sports Grounds, spectators can expect a vibrant and exciting day of sporting action, highlighting and celebrating young talent.

The competition was established five years ago by the club to promote sport as an outlet for youth, keeping them involved in positive activity and away from drugs, gangsterism and crime.

The tournament will be held over the youth day weekend starting on Saturday and finishing on Monday.

Entry fee is R5 per adult or child and an additional R10 per car, daily.

People’s Post returns as the official print media partner of the event.
