I FOUND the comments on blind belief very thought provoking (Analogy from a windowless room - 25 June).
I think in all spheres blind belief is not conducive to progress and we need to constantly examine our thinking and ask ourselves “am I doing or thinking such and such because I have always done it or am I really considering if it is true and beneficial to all concerned?”
Scientific thinking is fast taking hold within all religions and it is becoming more acceptable for those who believe in one omnipotent God to ask for scientific proof of this.
Jesus gave scientific proof of the presence of God through the many recorded healings found in the Bible.
Now some may say “how do we know they ever took place?” Well you would need to study the laws and precepts that He followed and then prove it for yourself.
If you did, then you would know for sure that God exists and that He is All.
These healings have been going on for centuries since the time of Jesus (and before), and they still continue today and are irrevocable proof that God exists.
I like to think of God as omnipresent love and truth.
I consider the universe to be ruled by the laws of truth in an intelligent manner and that we can comprehend these laws and use them to prove the existence of God.
I also know that none of us are really boxed into various rooms of blind belief. There is no outside to God.
We are all within this love and as long as we keep our focus on this God of love we will see that our purpose is to progress and to bless our fellow man.
We will see life as free and open, completely unrestricted, with no limiting rooms of consciousness and we will be fulfilling our grand purpose as the son (or woman) of the most high. With much appreciation for your open thinking.
