IT was an experience never to be forgotten for the children of Harding. More than 28 children from an organisation linked to Child Welfare were taken to the beach for the very first time on Saturday.

Child Welfare Port Shepstone in partnership with Radiant Life Ministries gave the boys and girls an experience of modern life as many have never been to a mall or a city before.

“The day started with an outing to Boswell Circus, sponsored by Boswell Circus, on Friday night as the children had never been to a circus,” said Leo van der Heiden of Harding.

Many of the children are orphans and from child-headed homes.

After spending the day at the beach the children were treated to a meal at Spur at Shelly Centre.

“Spur Shelly Beach sponsored us with 35 meals for the children and the staff.

“We would like to thank them for that,” said Van der Heiden.
