Big prizes for Sardine Classic winners

2015-07-02 06:00

THE Sardine Classic is back with a huge incentive to mountain bikers this year.

MacBananas will be giving R6 000 to the overall male winner and R4 000 to the first female of the 40km race.

Port Edward Holiday Resort is again host to this iconic race and highlights one of the South Coast’s sporting calendar fixtures this weekend - 4 and 5 July.

There will be 20km and 10km trail runs on the Saturday and the MTB 40km and 20km races on the Sunday. The world-class course meanders through the coastal forest, farm roads and rocky single track close to the Umtamvuna River gorge.

There is free entrance at Wild Coast Sun’s Wild Waves Water Park on Saturday for cyclists. Book your accommodation now and spend a fun-filled weekend away with your family.
