IT is time for the annual KZN South Coast Toy Run when coastal motorcyclists spread joy to many less fortunate children for Christmas.

Wilma Nevin from the Ramsgate Lions said this particular initiative is run by the Lions and South Coast bikers.

“This year’s toy run collection gets under way at 8am on 30 October when a group of bikers will leave from Wimpy on the Margate beach front to collect toys from Margate Primary at 9am.

“Thereafter they will ride to South City Christian College for another collection at 10.30am. These schools have participated in this project for a number of years and their amazing generosity is an initiative of the pupils and staff,” said Nevin.

The Toy Run will take place on 8 November when bikers leave from the South Coast Mall for a mass ride to the Ramsgate Lions Community Centre.

“From South Coast Mall the riders will ride to Ramsgate Lions Community Centre where the toys will be handed over for sorting and distribution to charity organisations that will assist in the distribution of the toys,” she said.

About 20 child welfare organisations will benefit from this year’ campaign.

Refreshments will be available at the centre where DJ Louis will entertain and the public is invited to attend.
