THE first event of the Chainworx KZN Series cycling challenge at Dezzi Raceway in Oslo Beach on Saturday had a fewer than normal amount of entrants but organisers are optimistic the numbers will pick up soon. “There weren’t that many participants today because it’s the first race, but the numbers should pick up as the season progresses,” said Brian Lindecke. Those who came first in their races: Evan Moolman (U10 boys), Callum Osborne (U12 boys), EmmaClipstone (U12 girls), Sharjah Jonsson (U16 boys), Tiffany Keep (U16 girls), Keagan Mathews (U23 boys), Bernard Esterhuizen (elite men), Lauren Snell (Vet 30-34 ladies), Denovan Heerden (Vet 35- 39 men), Meryln Sclanders (Vet 50 -54 ladies) and Gavin Brown (Vet 70 + men).
