SOUTH Coast Hospice held its Donkey Derby fundraiser at Desroches Hotel in Margate on Saturday.

Hospice’s BT King said it was the place where fortunes where made, and lost

“Hearts were opened and South Coast Hospice benefited from the generosity of those who attended as well as those who sponsored the wonderful selection of lucky-draw prizes,” said King

She said as Hospice, they are truly humbled at the response from the business community and Hospice friends.

“A special thank you to our ‘smooth tongued’ master of ceremonies, Johnny Louch, who did a sterling job,” she said.

All funds raised through the events will be used in Hospice’s Palliative Patient Care Centre which includes its Kingfisher In-Patient Unit.

“What fun. Our grateful thanks to all who participated in this fundraising event. The biggest surprise at the event was when Port Shepstone Lions re-donated their winnings to the Hospice Donkey Derby.”
