Drug dealer arrested by undercover cop

A TOTAL of 68 straws of heroin were confiscated during an undercover operation led by SAPS crime intelligence- driven operation recently.

Port Shepstone DPCI: Organised Crime unit and Crime Intelligence Gathering, made three undercover transactions with a 35-year-old man in Athlone Drive, Port Shepstone.

“At first 45 straws of heroin were purchased from the suspect by a police agent,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

When Lieutenant Koos Prinsloo finally arrested the suspect, another 23 straws of heroin were found in his pocket.

He was charged with dealing in drugs and appeared in court. The accused will appear again on 11 September. The total street value of the heroin is R2 040. - Supplied
