WITH more than 6000 people attending last year, the Pecanwood­ Oktoberfest on 10 and 11 October, has been voted South Africa’s the number one sport and lifestyle festival and KZN’s biggest beer fest.

With the wide variety of beer and other beverages and food pairing to suit any pallet, it also features some of SA’s biggest bands performing.

An array of aspects and activities have been added, including a variety of extreme and popular sports such as a 20km and 40km MTB challenge, a 4x4 technical challenge, a seven kilometre and 14km trail run and the WFO regional enduro round five and fun ride.

The MTB race, trail run, WFO enduro fun ride have been designed and marked by South Africa’s top course designers that will impress, with an array of exciting single tracks and views of the berg and Midmar valley.

All sport will start in the morning so people can finish in time to have their first beer later.

Spectators can also watch the 4x4 challenge and exhibition set out by Killarney and the Land Rovers’ Owner­ Club that is sure to be a nail-biting experience.

Artists this year include Monark, The Kiffness, Lonehill Estate, Majozi, Veranda Panda, the Kickstands, Ryan­ Stylz and Gus Brown.

Other adult activities include beer pong, the gladiator challenge, slip and slide, mechanical bull, paint ball shooting range, and more.

The ticket into the festival includes camping, but if camping isn’t for you. the Protea Hotel has partnered with the organisers, making a room rate start from R317 a person.
