Hibiscus Ultra Marathon this weekend

A NEW race on the South Coast sports calendar takes place on Sunday, 26 April at 6am.

Not only are the bikers here, but a whole bunch of Comrades hopefuls will also head to Ramsgate on Sunday morning to participate in the Hibiscus Ultra Marathon, an official Comrades Marathon qualifier.

The race consists of a 48km, 24km and 6,5km fun run. The 48km and the 24km start at 6am and the 6,5km fun run starts at 7am.

The entry form is downloadable at www.south coaststriders.co.za or entries will be taken at Shelly Centre (Marine Drive, Shelly Beach) from 9am to 12pm on Saturday 25 April and at Southcity Christian School from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday.

Late entries will be taken on race day from 4:30am to 5:30am at Southcity Christian Schools in Ramsgate.

The race starts at Southcity Christian Schools and heads South towards Pistols before turning left on the main road.

It then loosely follows the coast until Shelly Beach where it heads inland up to Gamalakhe where the course goes around Ray Nkonyeni Circle before heading towards Ugu Stadium and continuing past the airport before finishing back at Southcity Christian School.
