SOUTH Coast Hospice held its second annual Imbuzi off-road Enduro on Saturday at Izotsha farm.

BT King of South Coast Hospice said the turn-out was good as they had more than 100 riders.

“This year we had 116 riders with the youngest riders aged five,” said King.

She said funds raised from the Imbuzi go towards their palliative care centre which includes the Kingfisher House in-patient unit, day clinic, Hospice-at-home services, psychosocial, bereavement and social services.

“After all calculations this year we are looking at about R25 000,” said King

South Coast Hospice said there are other fundraisers coming up to help maintain the reopened in-patient unit.

“On 20 June we will have the Durban Men’s Choir at the Uvongo town hall and on 27 June our Donkey Derby at Desroches Hotel in Margate will take place.”

The in-patient unit is said to be going well, but needs support from sponsors and the community.

“The in-patient unit is an expensive service, therefore support and participation from the community and sponsors is much needed. We are a five-star Hospice therefore we provide five-star services,” said King
