Hospital staff dedicate hours to Mandela Day

THE Port Shepstone Regional Hospital staff will dedicate two hours of their time contributing to the 67 minutes of the Nelson Mandela initiative.

Management staff from medical wards and the eye clinic invite the public to a day of testing, including body mass, eyes, diabetes, blood pressure and HIV counselling.

Hospital spokesperson Phumza Morai said the aim is to offer the community health services on how non-communicable diseases can be controlled and avoided, to decrease the readmission rate and to cut down on defaulters thereby increase life expectancy.

The campaign will be held at Port Shepstone Oribi Plaza (outside Pick n Pay) on Friday 17 July from 9am to 11am.
