It is time for the Oktoberfest

IT is nearly that time again, and with over 6000 people last year, The Pecanwood­ Oktoberfest has been voted SA’s number one sport and lifestyle festival­ and KZN’s biggest beer fest, which boasts a variety of beer and other beverages to sample, including food to suit any pallet, and features some of SA’s biggest bands performing.

This year’s fest, on 10 and 11 October, has an added an array of aspects and activities, including a variety of extreme and popular sports, such as a 20/40 km MTB challenge, a 4x4 technical challenge, 7/14 KM trail run, the WFO regional Enduro­ round five and fun ride, to entertain all.

The MTB race, trail run, WFO and Enduro fun ride have been designed and marked by some of South Africa’s top course designers that will impress even the top sportsmen and women with an array of exciting single tracks with views of the berg and Midmar valley.

All sports will be starting in the morning so you can finish in time to have your first beer.

You can also watch the 4x4 challenge and exhibition set out by Killarney­ and the Land Rover Owners Club that is sure to be a nail-biting experience.

Artists at the event include Monark, The Kiffness, Lonehill estate, Majozi, Veranda Panda, the Kickstands, Ryan Stylz and Gus Brown.

Adult activities include beer pong, gladiator challenge, slip and slide, mechanical bull, paint ball shooting range, and many more.

Your ticket includes camping, however, if you are not keen to camp, the Protea Hotel has partnered with us, making a room rate start from R317 a person.

If you want to stay on site, Andy’s Tent Motel will also be available.
