AUDITIONS for extras for a movie that will be shot in Port Edward later this year have been successful.

Fred Roebuck, an agent for Cape Town Film Studios, hosted auditions in Port Edward and Port Shepstone last week.

A total of 167 people showed up at both venues.

“There were about 60 people who did not make the fit, but the rest were successful,” said Roebuck.

He said their photographs, measurements and details were captured and sent to Cape Town Film Studios for the final go-ahead.

“There were some who had skills such as dancing and the like. Some have had previous acting experience. All of that needed to be captured and put onto a data base,” he said.

The movie titled Gemma will be shot in Port Edward from 24 August to 4 September.

He unfortunately could not reveal anything further about the movie
